Ten thousand Minecraft fans gathered in London on Saturday and Sunday to attend an event to celebrate the popular video game.

Microsoft, which owns Minecraft and Minecraft, offered a small group of players the "golden ticket" to try its new augmented reality device Hololens.

The company is developing an improved version of Minecraft that will run on the system. It allows gamers to project their designs onto any flat surface in 3D.

Callum Ward, who tested the device on Saturday, said it was more difficult than a console.

Toby his brother acknowledged that it was a challenge to get used to but he praised the "cool" features of the game, including the ability for other players to be hit by lightning strikes.

Minecon 2015 set a new world record for the most tickets sold at an event that focuses on a single game.

In the crowd were YouTube video stars Robert and Vik, more popularly known as MrWoofless and Vikkstar123HD.

Vik stated to the BBC that Minecon was an unforgettable experience as YouTuber.  MINECRAFT SERVERS We create content for a large audience across the world and it's not often we get to meet them."
